Beyond Words
applies visual thinking skills to individual information management designed for facilitators, trainers, teams, presenters and internal consultants. Participants learn to structure thinking processes graphically and access core information systematically. These skills help participants define, reflect and synthesize complex personal and organizational issues. With the focused use of visual tools participants can manage cultural transition, identify opportunities for improvement, and track processes in their environment.

With a Hands•On pragmatic approach, students create their own instruments to support stages of idea development, environmental scans and problem solving. Rounds of live journaling practice with group feedback and coaching helps individuals integrate skills and define application opportunities. To ensure individual effectiveness, students pull from their professional practice for content and concepts. Take Note! builds a comprehensive overview for immediate application to journaling and individual note taking.

Our practical approach addresses techniques for journals and simultaneously identifies methods to promote dialogue with handouts, templates and learning maps. To create a synergy for all learning styles, participants have the opportunity to integrate linear and holistic aspects of information exchange. Take Note! is a synthesis of visual thinking, informational management tools and self reflection techniques. Participants achieve ease, comfort and skill in facilitating their own diagrammatic thinking. This enhances their personal, professional and organizational effectiveness.

We utilize specific reflective processes to identify where visual mapping for journaling can be effectively integrated. These include:

• Developing an idea

• Mapping expectations and environmental factors

• Creating overview maps

• Facilitating intuitive understanding

• Tracking sequence in history and processes

• Processing individual learnings from group activities

Topics provided by participants creates relevant practice. Our pragmatic approach promotes the highest on going usage of visual information management.
